(><) FULL PROGRAM ANNOUNCED FOR #dB2015 (><) As we enter into our 12th Decibel Festival edition, it is abundantly clear that the electronic music community has undergone substantial growth in recent years. When I founded Decibel in 2003, we were one of only a dozen electronic music festivals taking place across North American. Today, we are one of over a hundred, including six happening the same weekend as Decibel in the United States alone. Over that span, I’m proud to report that Decibel’s commitment to casting light on underground electronic music in all its forms has never wavered. Over the past 12 years, we’ve hosted a staggering 1,100 unique performers, 35% of whom had never performed in the Pacific Northwest prior to Decibel. This year, we continue that tradition more than ever with a program stacked with underground electronic artists from across the globe (94 performers representing 14 countries, performing at 28 unique audio/visual showcases, spanning 10 venues ranging from dinner theaters, to parks, to clubs, to boat parties). * For more information visit * For a complete list of events and to purchase tickets visit * Keep up with us on social at

Saturday, July 25th Decibel Festival is pleased to be partnering with Cascadia NW Arts & Music Festival for an very special late night program in "The Lodge" featuring... DJ THREE (dj set) Output / Hallucienda JOHN TEJADA (live pa) Palette / Kompakt / Poker Flat, Los Angeles LEE REYNOLDS Desert Hearts, San Diego NORDIC SOUL & ANNA LANGLEY (b2b dj set) Decibel Festival / Studio 4/4 ANDY WARREN Believe You Me / PDX This showcase begins at 8PM and goes until 4AM For more information and to purchase festival passes to Cascadia go to ABOUT DJ THREE Currently residing in New York City, Three has been tirelessly holding the flag for underground electronic music in the US since his rise out of the sunny state of Florida in the early 90's. In that time, he's emerged as one of the brightest DJ talents in the US and continues to be a true inspiration for many of us. Three’s tour dates show both diversity in audience and a genre-bending passion for good music; he’s held residencies at NYC’s Twilo, Cielo (Robots), Love and Blk Market Membership, as well as Florida’s legendary Simon’s while playing lauded guest spots at San Francisco’s Wicked party, Fabric (UK), Panorama Bar (Berlin), Blk Market Membership (NYC) and forward thinking events like Japan’s Labyrinth Festival and Australia’s Rainbow Serpent. Three's label Hallucination Limited was started in 2003 by Three as an off-shoot of the seminal US 90's label Hallucination Recordings which was founded by dance music legends Rabbit In The Moon. Hallucination Recordings was responsible for some of the freshest techno (licensing the Hazed - Bells EP to Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 label in '94), proper electro (miami bass legends Dynamix 2 and Jackal & Hyde) and benchmark releases like Second Hand Satellites - Multiple Mirrors EP (produced by Three and Sean Q6). Armed with a sound that borrows equally from vintage acid-house, techno and underground electronica Hallucination Limited is held in the highest regard getting attention from a wider audience than most most reach. One of the ethos of Hallucination has always been to release music that years later that is still relevant and feels timeless. A perfect example of this is Cassy's Circo Loco mix CD for the July 2011 issue of Mixmag... which contains no less than five tracks from the label catalog! Three's eclectic taste as a DJ and producer shine through just as brightly in his choices for the label. Following the path of his appeal as a DJ, his rare forays into producing have become staples for DJs of all styles. Three's remix of Mish Mash feat. Lois - 'Speechless' (Lost in Translation mix) for heavyweight UK label Crosstown Rebels received praise across the board including "pick of the month" in the 15 year anniversary issue of DJ Magazine while other productions such as the underground staple that is Second-Hand Satellites and remixes as Three A.M. (with David Christophere of Rabbit In The Moon) like U.N.K.L.E. feat. Ian Brown - 'Reign' continue to be played on dance floors around the world from DJs as diverse as Harvey, Ricardo Villalobos and Lee Burridge. Coming from the school of American DJs like Josh Wink and Doc Martin, Three has a wide ranging musical palate akin to Andrew Weatherall or Laurent Garnier, and was recently featured as part of DJ Times Magazine’s DJX20 Anniversary profile series as one of twenty DJs who embody the spirit of the American underground along such contemporaries as Josh Wink and Claude Von Stroke. Aside from his natural ability on the decks, Three sets himself apart from the rest of the pack by presenting eclectic sounds with an open-minded attitude towards everything he does. From DJ sets to musical output, Three is a "DJ's DJ" who has always leaned toward the cutting edge without losing touch with the roots of house and techno. ABOUT JOHN TEJADA Normally associated with his peers in techno from Detroit, Europe and elsewhere, John Tejada has embraced electronic music as a personal frontier, expanding on his resume as a techno recording artist as producer, remixer, DJ, and label owner. Known for crafting a brand of subtle, musical techno, his recorded output ranges across tempo and genre lines, from chilled out affairs with spacious arrangements to pulsating, densely layered, deeply energetic tracks that work magnificently in the hands of DJs as well as on the home stereo. John Tejada was born in Vienna, Austria on April 21, 1974. His parents, both professional classical musicians (his mother an opera singer and father a conductor) began his early piano training at the age of 4. In the summer of 1982, John would move with his mother to her place of birth, Los Angeles. It was that summer at the age of 8 another instrument would catch his eye, the drums. Teaching himself to play along to classic rock music, John quickly learned his way around the drum set (an instrument he still plays to this day in his I’m Not A Gun project). Everything changed however when he got his first taste of early 80’s hip hop music. The impact of those early productions and electronic experimentation was very strong. Soon after, at the age of 12 John was given his first set of turntables and a mixer. He wanted to figure out everything he was hearing DJs do at that time. His first gigs came at the age of 12 for his own school, DJing his school dances. Soon after his fascination with DJing began his fascination with production began. Just as he was completely determined to learn the tricks of local DJs, he now wanted to know how the music was made. His introduction came around the age of 15, when he acquired his first looping delay. Soon after came his first workstation, an Ensoniq EPS sampler. This opened up a whole new world of possibilities. John spent every part of his day honing his craft. In 1991, while still in high school, John was already recording his first productions. He was also involved in college radio, even though he was just a junior in high school. John had a spot on “The Fly ID Show” with DJ Rob One. John produced the show’s first record for Rob and also went on to do some hip hop production on Ruthless Records. It was during this time that he met his long time collaborator and best friend Arian Leviste. The two met at a hip hop recording session in ‘91. John, already tired of the hip hop scene and where it was going, spent hours talking to Arian about acid house, techno, ambient house and everything they seemed to have in common. The two agreed they would meet weekly to compose material. It took some time before they would release any music, but in 1994 they pressed up their own single and that started a chain reaction of releases. John and Arian during this time also were accepted into Cal Arts’ (California Institute for the Arts) electronic music program, but both decided not to attend to hone their craft on their own. Soon after, John enjoyed a series of releases on European labels like A13, Multiplex, and Generations R&S. In the fall of 1996 he started his own label, Palette Recordings as an outlet to release his own productions without having anyone tell him how to do it. The demand for his music continued to grow and labels such as Ferox, Sino, Mosaic, Immigrant, Plug Research, Pokerflat and 7th City all released Tejada 12”s. John began traveling internationally in ‘97 to showcase his DJ skills around the globe, traveling to more than 25 countries and playing various clubs and festivals around the world. Festivals included Movement (formerly The Detroit Electronic Music Festival), Sonar Festival (in Spain and Tokyo), Dance Valley (Netherlands), Sync Festival (Greece), Mutek Mexico, as well as internationally known spaces such as Fabric (London), Yellow (Tokyo), Rex Club (Paris), The Walt Disney Concert Hall (Los Angeles) and many more. In 1999, John met classical jazz guitarist Takeshi Nishimoto, which was the beginning of another musical frontier. The two had a similar meeting as John and Arian had years before and began talking about making music. The project I’m Not A Gun was born and signed soon after to Berlin-based City Centre Offices. This project would bring back John’s own training as a drummer while also trying his hand at the guitar. The project became a mix of John’s own electronic productions along with Takeshi’s professional guitar playing and John’s drumming. The project has enjoyed great reviews and success the world over and the duo has performed live in LA, Japan and Germany. In the summer of 2004, John would - in one week - create the two songs that would catapult his techno career. The classic “Sweat On The Walls,” and “Mono On Mono” were released almost at the same time on two different labels. “Sweat” was released on Pokerflat and “Mono On Mono” on Palette. Together the two records sold over 23,000 copies on vinyl. This lead to the equally successful follow up singles “Paranoia,” “Mind Bend” (with more recent collaborator and Palette-signing, Justin Maxwell) “Voyager,” and “The End Of It All.” With dozens of singles and remixes to his credit, he has also produced full-length albums for Playhouse, Palette, Plug Research, deFocus, Moods and Grooves, Immigrant and A13. For a complete discography please visit . ABOUT LEE REYNOLDS Originally from England, Lee Reynolds moved to California in 1988 to ride BMX bikes. After numerous injuries he switched his focus from one pair of wheels to another, and started DJing in '92, quickly beginning to throw parties in the San Diego area, and focusing on the ambient and psychedelic sounds of the time.. an influence that will always remain. Not content with just chillin' out the newly dubbed 'Dr.Indulgent' began to explore the more leftfield areas of dance music, collecting weird records on frequent trips back to London, playing gigs up and down the West Coast, and appearing on early internet radio shows such as Groovetech. Fast forward to 2014 and Lee is heavily involved in the Southern California tech/house movement, co-hosting the popular Desert Hearts, Tropical Hearts, Moonshake & Tribalove parties, playing at the legendary Moontribe and Lightning in a Bottle events, and often DJing south of the border. With over 20 years of experience under his belt Lee has never had more fun DJing!!! After returning to the United States, Anna cut her teeth in the Los Angeles electronic music scene, absorbing the culture and finding her own groove while playing popular Hollywood and underground venues. Today, Anna’s dirty little bass and soul can be heard in her high-energy dancefloor bangers or in her deep introspective mixes titled the Full Xircle Volumns. Whether she’s playing techno, deep house, minimal, tech-house or tribal sounds, Anna flexes her diverse and mature musical palette with class and style. Anna has performed along side several of underground dance music's most celebrated artists, including Claude VonStroke, Green Velvet, MK, Clapton, JPhlip, Christian Martin. ABOUT ANDY WARREN Andy Warren is a resident DJ and co-founder of Believe You Me, a Portland-based collective of holistic party animals. First stepping behind the decks in the dark clubs and bizarre living room after-hours of Denver circa 2010, Andy discovered a gift for leading dance floors on strange and wonderful journeys. Dancers and heads are drawn in by his strange, moody, melodic, and uplifting selections taken from the deep end of the house/techno spectrum. Beyond DJing, Andy’s talents as a event coordinator and musical curator have given a breath of fresh air to the Portland underground community, where he currently hosts a successful monthly club night, as well as the occasional warehouse or open-air extravaganza. He has hosted and shared the decks with an impressive lot of up and coming and veteran talent over the last four years in in Denver, Ho Chi Minh City, Portland, Seattle, LA, San Francisco, and Black Rock City. Andy’s name is becoming more talked about on the length of the west coast and beyond, thanks in part to his curation and DJ residency for Burning Man’s Panda Lounge, a San Francisco based theme camp. Aside from hosting some of the most renowned musical talent on the Playa, Panda Lounge is known to be a hidden gem of a party with a welcoming, intimate, and consistently magical vibe. Andy is firmly committed to raising the bar with each event and performance, and is deeply dedicated to the art of DJing as a way to express himself and connect with dance floors in a meaningful way.
